Village Virtual and its Career Campus program have been serving students in this state-led program in Louisiana since the program's inception in 2013. As a result of this service, students in the rural areas of St. Landry Parish, St. James Paris, St. Mary Parish and others have had access to advanced math and science courses, including AP courses, and two years of foreign language instruction in Spanish and French as well as American Sign Language and Latin. Students at charter schools from D'Arbonne Woods in Union Parish to Baton Rouge and New Orleans have connected their students to First Responder, Nursing, Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Customer Service, Environmental Science, and many other core and career tech electives in the absence of a teacher or sufficient numbers of students to support these courses in their local schools.
