Santana-Lin Lewis
Santana-Lin is a sophomore at Mt. Hermon School in Franklinton, Louisiana, who loves learning a foreign language. Completing her Spanish I course in record time, this Village Virtual Stellar Student will complete Spanish II this spring and free up her schedule for other electives next year. Her online teacher, Elizabeth Wilkins, says that Santana-Lin “is always moving forward with great self-initiative” and “opens and closes all communications with great manners and genuine friendliness.” Santana-Lin says that a key to successful online learning is the old-fashioned skill of taking notes. Online students “need to write down everything no matter what, to make sure they can study and have the words they are learning in front of them.” Great advice from this young Louisiana scholar. Thanks to Mt. Vernon Lab Facilitator Barbara Kerbow for her support for this student and congratulations, Santana-Lin, on being selected this month’s Stellar Student!
